This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada, +1 more country.
• Design, implement, and uphold IT infrastructure, encompassing networks, servers, storage, and virtualization.
• Efficiently troubleshoot and resolve IT issues as they arise.
• Collaborate with internal teams to identify and prioritize IT projects and initiatives effectively.
• Create and maintain technical documentation and training materials for staff.
• Ensure adherence to industry standards, regulations, and company policies.
• Keep abreast of emerging technologies and trends within the automotive software sector.
• Provide End User Support for JDP Issued PC/Laptop hardware and software, overseeing SugarCRM and Service Now ticketing systems.
• Manage onboarding and offboarding activities, including the procurement and recovery of assets.
• Oversee financial database servers and client workstations, including third-party plugin support.
• Collaborate with INAP/Horizon IQ/Evocative in the Data Center to ensure optimal operation of hosted environments.
• Execute system, database, and server patching.
• Engage in on-call, off-hours scheduled, and unscheduled work as necessary.
• Manage and administer data center and cloud environments.
• Set up monitoring and alerting systems.
• Conduct and oversee environment backups.
• Implement changes in the environment, including moves, additions, and deletions.
• Support SMTP and SMS Gateways.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related discipline, or 5+ years of experience in IT engineering and administration.
• Exceptional problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Capability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Proficiency with VMWARE Vcenter.
• Experience with Windows Server.
• Knowledge of Linux (various distributions).
• Familiarity with load balancing.
• Understanding of firewalls – rules, policies, VPN, monitoring, etc.
• Experience in DNS management.
• Proficient in Layer 2 and Layer 3 network configurations and troubleshooting.
• Hands-on experience with Dell, Lenovo, and HP hardware, including PCs, laptops, and servers.
• Skills in application layer troubleshooting.
• Experience in SSL certificate deployment across all environments, including network equipment and Linux-based load balancers.
