Senior Infrastructure & Cloud Architect – Datacenter Transformation

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Belgium, +3 more countries.

📋 Description

• Evaluate the current datacenter infrastructure, technology landscape, and interdependencies.

• Integrate business, security, operational, and resilience requirements into architectural principles.

• Create target architectures encompassing compute, storage, networking, virtualization, backup, disaster recovery, and automation.

• Analyze on-premises, hybrid cloud, and externally managed infrastructure models.

• Assess technology platforms and vendors using objective technical criteria.

• Develop architectural scenarios and evaluate feasibility, compatibility, risks, and long-term viability.

• Review infrastructure reuse, hardware lifecycle, and modernization needs.

• Outline a high-level migration roadmap, detailing dependencies and risks.

• Offer technical insights for licensing, sizing, support, migration efforts, and total cost of ownership.

• Deliver architecture recommendations and decision materials to senior stakeholders.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of experience in infrastructure, cloud, systems, or enterprise architecture, particularly in complex transformation projects.

• Comprehensive end-to-end knowledge of datacenter architecture, including compute, storage, networking, virtualization, backup, disaster recovery, and monitoring.

• In-depth experience with Microsoft Azure architecture, covering landing zones, networking, security, storage, monitoring, and cost optimization.

• Proven experience in designing and evaluating on-premises, hybrid cloud, and public-cloud environments.

• Strong understanding of enterprise virtualization and VDI technologies, including VMware, Hyper-V, and Citrix.

• Experience in leading large-scale datacenter or cloud migrations, which includes architecture assessments, technology comparisons, and migration roadmaps.

• Solid grasp of Infrastructure as Code, FinOps, DevSecOps, and operational governance.

• Capability to assess infrastructure lifecycle, resilience, vendor dependencies, and operating models.

• Experience in advising senior stakeholders and presenting executive-level architecture recommendations.

• Excellent proficiency in written and spoken English.
