Senior Information Security Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Act as the primary responder to security incidents and enhance Hanover’s security framework.

• Collaborate with IT, audit, HR, and other enterprise departments to detect issues, educate teams, propose remediation strategies, and ensure resolution of problems.

• Oversee IDS alerts, network and system logs, and network traffic to identify and report potential threats.

• Create incident tickets and document the resolution of security events.

• Conduct trend analysis and record findings.

• Operate across various platforms, possessing in-depth knowledge of at least two systems.

• Provide guidance on threats and vulnerabilities while helping to prioritize tasks.

• Investigate security threats and create indicators of compromise for recognizing anomalies and patterns of infected systems.

• Execute incident response activities, including security event analysis, incident management, reporting, and threat assessment.

• Deliver technical analysis, design, support, and recommendations for security applications, technologies, and products.

• Prepare situation reports for Digital Forensics, Incident Response, and escalations to leadership.

• Mentor and train fellow analysts.

• Serve as an escalation point for junior staff, validating findings, defining event scope, and supporting larger investigations.

• Lead team members in projects or initiatives and delegate tasks as necessary.

• Facilitate team collaboration across the IT organization.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent experience with 5+ years of relevant professional background.

• Technical proficiency in systems administration and security tools.

• Understanding of security practices and procedures.

• Intermediate knowledge of networking, including various protocols.

• Strong independent and collaborative skills for team efforts.

• Experience in complex environments with a high level of organizational effectiveness.

• Demonstrated ability and commitment to effective communication.

• Strong interpersonal skills to foster relationships with stakeholders and colleagues.

• Excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities.

• A combination of OS-level certifications, Security+, GSEC, SSCP, and CEH certifications is preferred.
