This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Oversee vulnerability management initiatives and detect potential risks.
• Coordinate and guide technology personnel in identifying and addressing system vulnerabilities throughout the computing environment.
• Report urgent and critical issues to the Manager – Information Security and senior management.
• Enhance, refine, and create processes that support asset, patch, network, vulnerability, change, and configuration management monitoring.
• Prepare for and engage in threat hunting and security incident response efforts.
• Collaborate with IT and Information Support teams to establish response preparedness.
• Offer information security oversight and advisory support for both technical and non-technical projects.
• Define and assess functional requirements and specifications for security systems.
• Collaborate with IT Development and Support teams to secure both on-premises and cloud environments.
• Develop and oversee policies for anti-virus, malware, and Data Loss Prevention (DLP).
• Monitor, evaluate, test, and report on the effectiveness of information security controls and adherence to policies.
• Suggest new security solutions and enhancements to existing controls.
• Educate colleagues on cyber-attack Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures while mentoring junior team members.
• Keep management informed about unresolved issues in accordance with escalation protocols.
• Assist internal and external auditors during assessments and address audit recommendations.
• Maintain knowledge of relevant credit union laws and regulations.
• Perform additional job-related tasks as required.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Information Security, Information Assurance, or equivalent professional experience required.
• A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in the management, configuration, administration, installation, and evaluation of network or operating systems software, hardware, and applications is required.
• Experience with Microsoft and Linux systems is preferred.
• At least 3 years of experience in organizational information security, information assurance, or delivering security consulting services is required.
• Proficiency in information security, vulnerability management, threat detection, and risk mitigation.
• Capability to lead incident response and threat hunting initiatives.
• Experience in enhancing security monitoring, managing vulnerabilities, assessing security solutions, supporting audits, and promoting secure configuration and change management practices.
• Comprehensive understanding of state and federal laws and regulations related to credit union compliance, including bank secrecy and anti-money laundering laws.
