Senior Information Architect – UX Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Oversee the information architecture strategy within a diverse web ecosystem that spans multiple sites and brands.

• Evaluate and redesign navigation, taxonomy, content hierarchy, and website structures.

• Analyze essential user journeys and pinpoint opportunities to enhance findability and usability.

• Conduct stakeholder and user discovery workshops.

• Collaborate closely with content strategists to synchronize information architecture, taxonomy, metadata, and content structure.

• Partner with UX/UI designers on responsive templates, components, and a unified design system.

• Convert research findings and business needs into clear experience principles and actionable recommendations.

• Ensure that accessibility and inclusive design are integral to the overall experience.

• Work in tandem with technical architects and CMS specialists to guarantee effective implementation of the proposed information architecture.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 8 years’ experience in UX and/or information architecture.

• Proven track record in leading information architecture for extensive, content-rich websites consisting of hundreds or thousands of pages.

• Demonstrated experience with multi-site and/or multi-brand environments.

• Background in government, public sector, higher education, financial services, or similarly complex organizations.

• Experience in CMS re-platforming or significant web modernization projects.

• Strong understanding of taxonomy, navigation design, user journeys, and content modeling.

• Proficiency in user research and stakeholder engagement.

• Knowledge of WCAG 2.2 AA guidelines and principles of accessible design.

• Experience working with design systems and component-based web experiences.

• Provide 2–3 relevant projects showcasing your role, the scale or number of sites or pages, and the CMS/platform used.
