This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Singapore.
• Oversee and resolve intricate employee exits from start to finish with minimal supervision across various international jurisdictions, focusing on delivering an exceptional offboarding experience for Remote's clients and employees.
• Offer reliable and informed guidance with a high level of expertise on key jurisdictions, managing client inquiries regarding various HR matters, including but not limited to termination, resignation and transfer procedures, employment contracts, and redundancy processes, while ensuring adherence to legal standards and best practices.
• Independently conduct and facilitate meetings with clients and external employees, encompassing workforce reduction consultations, administrative hearings, negotiations on separations and settlements, providing expertise on terminations, and delivering outcomes related to terminations.
• Negotiate and influence favorable outcomes in complex terminations, adeptly navigating and directing multiple stakeholders with competing interests through a multifaceted, involved, and occasionally protracted process.
• Coordinate with various internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance in offboarding activities and audits, involving payroll, legal counsel, government entities, and trade unions.
• Accurately draft, tailor, and manage all termination and supplementary documents, ensuring employee records are maintained in strict compliance with privacy and confidentiality regulations.
• Execute offboarding processes on Remote's internal HRIS platform, collaborating with various internal teams, including Customer Success, Legal, Payroll, Benefits, Time and Attendance, among others, to ensure all aspects of the employee exit are processed accurately and promptly.
• Act as the primary point of informal escalation as a trusted colleague with sound judgment, providing expertise, mentoring, and guidance to junior team members.
• Deliver comprehensive guidance on Remote's Employee Relations resources, assisting clients in navigating complex workplace situations.
• Conduct in-depth preliminary assessments of workplace issues, identifying key facts, relevant local regulations, and potential pathways forward.
• Serve as a reliable resource for internal and external stakeholders on employee relations issues, ensuring proper handling of complex cases.
• Assist clients in comprehending progressive disciplinary strategies, documentation requirements, and best practices for managing challenging situations.
• Monitor and track ongoing employee relations cases, ensuring timely follow-ups and appropriate coordination with relevant stakeholders.
• Act as the subject-matter expert and proactively address internal and external inquiries regarding all offboarding and first-level employee relations issues in collaboration with Lifecycle's internal stakeholders.
• Identify opportunities, advocate for, and drive improvements in processes, automation, product development, and the overall experience for customers and employees through offboarding and employee relations processes.
• Determine methods, procedures, and standards for new assignments, exercising judgment in selecting methods and evaluating, adapting complex techniques and criteria for achieving results while considering broader Lifecycle and Remote requirements.
• Experience as an HR Advisor or HR Business Partner, with a solid foundation in generalist HR competencies and exposure throughout the employee lifecycle.
• Tertiary qualifications in HR/labour relations/employment law are considered advantageous.
• Demonstrated experience with a robust background in managing voluntary and involuntary exits (terminations) thoughtfully, with sensitivity and legal compliance; providing comprehensive HR advice and guidance on employment laws and regulations across various jurisdictions.
• Familiarity with employee relations principles, progressive discipline strategies, and workplace investigation fundamentals.
• Ability to interpret and apply industrial instruments, analyze complex HR challenges, and employ problem-solving skills to independently (or occasionally with minimal supervision) devise solutions, conduct research, and translate findings into usable resources, providing practical solutions and effectively communicating recommendations to clients and internal stakeholders in ambiguous and unfamiliar contexts.
• Exceptional communication, influencing, conflict management, and negotiation skills, with the capability to independently navigate difficult conversations toward positive outcomes, often amid conflicting interests, while projecting authority and expertise as Remote's representative, maintaining professionalism and strict confidentiality.
• Business-level (advanced) proficiency in written and spoken English, with proficiency in additional languages viewed favorably.
• A strong inclination and desire to innovate and optimize processes, persistently identifying, developing, and implementing automation opportunities while championing best practices.
• Operational efficiency, with an understanding of the critical importance of meticulous record-keeping and data integrity.
• Technologically adept, capable of collaborating asynchronously across various tools, and adapting to new and evolving systems.
• Ability to work independently and cohesively in an international team within a fast-paced, asynchronous, remote environment while effectively balancing multiple competing priorities. Willingness to work flexible hours as required.
