This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Zealand.
• Take charge of managing and resolving intricate employee exit processes across various global jurisdictions independently.
• Provide guidance to clients on procedures related to termination, resignation, transfer, employment contracts, and redundancy, ensuring adherence to legal standards and best practices.
• Facilitate meetings with clients and external employees, encompassing workforce reduction discussions, administrative hearings, settlement negotiations, and the communication of termination outcomes.
• Negotiate and influence favorable results in complex termination scenarios that involve stakeholders with conflicting interests.
• Collaborate with payroll, legal representatives, government entities, trade unions, and other stakeholders to ensure compliance and conduct audits during the offboarding process.
• Create, customize, and manage termination and supplementary documentation while ensuring the accuracy and confidentiality of employee records.
• Execute offboarding procedures within Remote’s internal HRIS platform, working alongside Customer Success, Legal, Payroll, Benefits, and Time and Attendance teams.
• Act as an initial informal escalation point, offering mentorship and guidance to junior team members.
• Deliver first-level Employee Relations support and assist clients in navigating intricate workplace situations.
• Conduct initial evaluations of workplace concerns and identify relevant regulations and potential solutions.
• Monitor employee relations cases and ensure timely follow-up with appropriate stakeholders.
• Address inquiries regarding offboarding and first-level employee relations as a subject-matter expert.
• Identify and implement process enhancements, automation opportunities, product development, and improvements in customer and employee experiences.
• Establish methods, procedures, and standards for new assignments using sound judgment and complex evaluation techniques.
• Background as an HR Advisor or HR Business Partner, with competencies in generalist HR and exposure to the employee lifecycle.
• Demonstrated experience in independently managing both voluntary and involuntary employee exits with empathy, sensitivity, and adherence to legal requirements.
• Proven track record in providing HR advice and insights on employment laws and regulations across multiple jurisdictions.
• Strong understanding of employee relations principles, progressive discipline methods, and fundamentals of workplace investigations.
• Capability to interpret and apply industrial instruments and analyze complex HR-related issues effectively.
• Proficient in researching issues, translating findings into practical resources for the team, and offering actionable recommendations.
• Exceptional communication, influencing, conflict management, and negotiation skills.
• Competent in independently guiding challenging discussions towards positive results while upholding professionalism and confidentiality.
• Advanced proficiency in written and spoken English at a business level.
• Talent for process innovation, optimization, automation, and the implementation of best practices.
• Strong awareness of operational efficiency, record-keeping, and data integrity.
• Tech-savvy, able to collaborate asynchronously using evolving tools and systems.
• Capable of working autonomously and cohesively in a fast-paced, international, asynchronous remote environment.
• Willingness to adapt to flexible working hours as required.
• Self-motivated, proactive, accountable, and capable of inspiring others.
• Strong abilities in automation, AI capabilities, and fluency in AI technologies.
• Tertiary qualifications in HR, labour relations, or employment law are seen as an advantage (optional).
