This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Zealand.
• Oversee and address intricate employee exit processes from start to finish with minimal oversight across various international jurisdictions.
• Offer counsel on termination, resignation, transfer, employment contracts, and redundancy procedures while ensuring adherence to legal standards and best practices.
• Facilitate meetings with clients and external employees, which include workforce reduction consultations, administrative hearings, separation and settlement negotiations, and discussions regarding termination outcomes.
• Negotiate and influence favorable results in complex terminations involving stakeholders with differing interests.
• Collaborate with payroll, legal advisors, governmental agencies, trade unions, and other parties to ensure offboarding compliance and audits are conducted.
• Create, customize, and manage termination and supplementary documentation while upholding precise, confidential employee records.
• Execute offboarding processes in Remote’s internal HRIS and partner with Customer Success, Legal, Payroll, Benefits, and Time and Attendance teams.
• Mentor and support junior team members as the primary point of informal escalation.
• Provide initial Employee Relations guidance and assist clients in navigating complex workplace situations.
• Evaluate workplace issues, identify relevant regulations, and propose potential solutions.
• Monitor employee relations cases and ensure timely follow-up with appropriate stakeholders.
• Address inquiries related to offboarding and first-level employee relations topics.
• Recognize and implement process enhancements, automation, product development, and improvements to customer and employee experiences.
• Establish methods, procedures, and standards for new assignments and modify complex techniques to align with Lifecycle and Remote requirements.
• Experience as an HR Advisor or HR Business Partner, possessing generalist HR skills and exposure to the employee lifecycle.
• Relevant tertiary qualifications in HR, labor relations, or employment law are advantageous.
• Demonstrated experience in independently managing voluntary and involuntary exits with care, sensitivity, and legal compliance.
• Comprehensive knowledge of employment laws and regulations in various jurisdictions.
• Familiarity with employee relations principles, progressive discipline, and the fundamentals of workplace investigations.
• Ability to interpret and apply industrial instruments and analyze intricate HR issues.
• Capability to research issues, translate findings into practical team resources, and provide actionable recommendations.
• Exceptional communication, influencing, conflict-resolution, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to independently guide challenging conversations toward positive outcomes while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality.
• Proficient in business-level (advanced) written and spoken English.
• Talent for process innovation, optimization, automation, and implementation of best practices.
• Strong attention to record-keeping and data integrity.
• Tech-savvy with the ability to collaborate asynchronously using various tools and adapt to changing systems.
• Capacity to work autonomously and cohesively in a fast-paced, asynchronous, remote international environment.
• Willingness to be flexible with working hours as required.
• Proactive, self-driven, accountable, and capable of inspiring others.
• Strong skills in automation and AI, along with fluency in AI concepts.
