This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Australia.
• Manage and resolve complex employee exits independently across various international jurisdictions.
• Provide advice to clients regarding termination, resignation, transfer processes, employment contracts, redundancy procedures, and applicable employment laws and regulations.
• Lead meetings with clients and external employees, including consultations on workforce reductions, administrative hearings, separation and settlement negotiations, and termination outcomes.
• Negotiate and influence positive outcomes in complex termination scenarios.
• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, including payroll, legal counsel, government agencies, and trade unions.
• Draft, customize, and administer termination and supplementary documents while ensuring the confidentiality of employee records.
• Manage offboarding processes using Remote’s internal HRIS platform, collaborating with Customer Success, Legal, Payroll, Benefits, and Time and Attendance teams.
• Serve as an escalation point and mentor for junior team members.
• Offer first-level Employee Relations guidance and conduct initial assessments of workplace concerns.
• Assist clients with progressive discipline, documentation needs, and navigating challenging workplace situations.
• Monitor employee relations cases and ensure timely follow-ups.
• Resolve offboarding and employee relations inquiries as a subject-matter expert.
• Identify and implement process improvements, automation, product development, and enhancements to customer and employee experiences.
• Establish methods, procedures, and standards for new assignments, adapting complex techniques to achieve desired results.
• Experience as an HR Advisor or HR Business Partner with a generalist HR skill set and exposure to the employee lifecycle.
• Proven track record of independently managing voluntary and involuntary exits with sensitivity and legal compliance.
• In-depth knowledge of employment laws and regulations across multiple jurisdictions.
• Understanding of employee relations principles, progressive discipline strategies, and the fundamentals of workplace investigations.
• Capability to interpret and apply industrial instruments and analyze complex HR issues.
• Competence in researching issues and translating findings into practical resources for the team.
• Ability to offer practical recommendations to clients and internal stakeholders in uncertain environments.
• Exceptional communication, influencing, conflict management, and negotiation skills.
• Proficient in leading challenging conversations towards positive results independently.
• Advanced written and spoken English proficiency at a business level.
• A knack for process innovation, optimization, automation, and implementing best practices.
• Strong operational efficiency, record-keeping, and data integrity awareness.
• Technologically adept and able to adapt to evolving systems and asynchronous collaboration tools.
• Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced, international, asynchronous remote environment.
• Willingness to work flexible hours as required.
• Strong sense of ownership, accountability, and self-motivation.
• Proficient in automation and AI capabilities with fluency in AI applications.
• Tertiary qualifications in HR, labour relations, or employment law are a plus (not mandatory).
