This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Act as the main HR liaison for U.S. employees and managers regarding performance, attendance, conduct, policy interpretation, and employee issues.
• Oversee employee relations issues, including investigations, corrective measures, performance improvement strategies, and termination assistance.
• Administer U.S. health and welfare benefits while addressing intricate issues related to eligibility, enrollment, deductions, coverage, and qualifying life events.
• Manage relationships with benefits brokers, insurance carriers, third-party administrators, COBRA administrators, and various vendors.
• Collaborate with payroll and finance teams to reconcile deductions, invoices, contribution files, and discrepancies.
• Support benefits renewals and take the lead on essential aspects of open enrollment.
• Handle 401(k) administration, which includes eligibility, contributions, employee inquiries, vendor coordination, audits, and necessary corrections.
• Oversee employee leave and workplace accommodations processes involving FMLA, ADA, parental leave, disability, workers’ compensation, and state programs.
• Maintain the U.S. HR and benefits compliance calendar, coordinating filings, notices, audits, disclosures, and communications.
• Track federal, state, and local employment regulations, updating policies, systems, communications, and practices accordingly.
• Draft and maintain HR policies, procedures, resources for managers, employee communications, and standard operating procedures.
• Analyze HR data, records, and recurring processes to identify risks, resolve discrepancies, and enhance efficiency.
• Provide coaching and quality reviews for HR coordinators and developing HR professionals.
• Collaborate with the Director of HR on workforce planning, organizational initiatives, compliance issues, and People Operations priorities.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in human resources, including independent management of Senior HR Generalist, HR Business Partner, or similar roles.
• Direct experience in administering U.S. health and welfare benefits.
• Hands-on experience with 401(k) or other retirement plan administration.
• Experience in managing employee relations matters such as investigations, performance issues, corrective actions, and terminations.
• Knowledge of ERISA, ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, FMLA, ADA, wage and hour laws, and relevant federal and state employment regulations.
• Capability to manage employee leave and workplace accommodation processes.
• Familiarity with supporting employees and managers across various U.S. states and researching complex requirements.
• Ability to collaborate with payroll, finance, legal counsel, benefits brokers, carriers, and third-party administrators.
• Proficiency in HRIS and payroll systems.
• Sound judgment in evaluating sensitive HR issues, identifying risks, maintaining documentation, and suggesting next steps.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for conveying complex requirements to employees, managers, executives, and external partners.
• Strong organizational skills and follow-through in a remote work environment.
• Experience in supporting a remote-first or geographically distributed workforce is preferred.
• Exposure to international HR teams or global People Operations initiatives is a plus.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States at the time of hire in an employer-approved U.S. state and able to maintain such authorization during employment.
