This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Supervise all facets of highway and roadway design projects in alignment with MTO (Ministry of Transportation, Ontario) standards and protocols.
• Oversee the design and execution of projects, guaranteeing adherence to MTO specifications, guidelines, and standards.
• Lead a diverse team of engineers and technicians, including team members working remotely.
• Establish project priorities based on general direction from leadership, ensuring consistency with client and business goals.
• Offer management and direction to subordinate managers, uphold company and project policies, and serve as the main point of contact between AECOM and the client.
• Provide technical expertise in specialized areas of highway engineering, coordinating the efforts of other professionals.
• Actively engage in all project phases, encompassing client meetings, feasibility studies, and the development of preliminary and detailed designs.
• Act as Capture or Project Manager for key initiatives, identifying and securing new project opportunities.
• Accountable for managing the project from the budgeting and scheduling phase through procurement and contract completion.
• BA/BS in Civil Engineering with 8 years of relevant experience in highway transportation projects.
• Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in Ontario (or eligibility for licensing) or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
• Project management experience with MTO and Ontario municipal transportation projects is essential.
• Ideally, 15+ years of experience in highway/roadway design, including preliminary and detailed design for transportation projects.
• Experience in designing highways, interchanges, and roadway systems.
• Proficiency in design software such as MicroStation, OpenRoads, or AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Knowledge of MTO Design Standards, TAC Guidelines, and Highway Safety Design principles.
• Familiarity with MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Project) for project communication and reporting.
