Senior Healthcare Integrations Software Engineer – B2B SaaS

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design and implement highly scalable and fault-tolerant software solutions capable of transmitting millions of messages monthly across various formats and protocols.

• Develop and enhance system architectures to support complex, clearinghouse-specific EDI/API data mappings.

• Introduce advanced error handling, logging, and retry mechanisms within asynchronous workflows to maintain data integrity and reliability.

• Work directly with external clearinghouse partners to debug and resolve issues related to non-standard integration systems.

• Ensure adherence to all relevant EDI protocols and federal healthcare standards, including the design and auditing of systems for HIPAA security and privacy compliance.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate new technologies and frameworks, while documenting all features, flows, and processes within the application.

• Adjust and transition between various programming languages and technologies as needed.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of demonstrable experience in developing robust software solutions, ideally within the healthcare industry.

• Strong foundational skills in constructing and integrating APIs.

• Proven experience in scaling API systems in a cost-efficient manner.

• Proficient in PHP or Python (or a similar programming language), with a readiness to learn additional languages as necessary.

• Proven ability to swiftly adapt to new programming languages and manage transitions effectively.

• Exceptional problem-solving abilities and capacity to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

• Familiarity with EDI transactions such as 837, 277, 999, and 835.

• Knowledge of, or experience with, healthcare data interchange standards including HL7 and FHIR.
