Senior Healthcare Economics Analyst

📋 Description

• Take ownership of both internal and customer-oriented analyses that assess the impact of RightMove’s care model on outcomes, utilization, experience, and overall care costs.

• Assess the financial and clinical effects of care interventions and technology investments, such as virtual physical therapy and remote monitoring.

• Create and sustain comparison groups, risk adjustment methodologies, and measurement techniques that withstand external scrutiny.

• Convert intricate medical data into actionable recommendations that enhance savings, quality, and patient navigation.

• Examine referral patterns, provider performance, and market-level dynamics to uncover high-value care opportunities.

• Evaluate and prioritize opportunities for cost reduction throughout the musculoskeletal episode.

• Collaborate with Data Engineering to develop scalable datasets, dashboards, and measurement frameworks.

• Establish reusable measurement standards and document methodologies for consistent reporting.

• Convey findings through polished analyses suitable for executives, client-facing reports, slide presentations, and white papers.

• Present results and methodologies to stakeholders from employers and health plans.

• Assist Commercial and Partner Success teams with renewal, expansion, and new business discussions.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years of analytics experience in a value-based care environment, such as a payer, risk-bearing provider group, ACO, or a healthcare technology company engaged in at-risk contracts.

• Direct experience in assessing program or intervention savings, including the development of appropriate comparison groups, applying risk adjustment, and accounting for common confounding factors like selection effects and regression to the mean.

• Extensive knowledge of medical claims data, including its structure, limitations, and potential analytical challenges.

• Proven experience querying large claims datasets using SQL in a cloud data warehouse like Snowflake, BigQuery, or Databricks.

• Proficiency in Excel and at least one scripting language (Python or R) for data analysis.

• A Master's degree in health economics, public health, health services research, biostatistics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience in a quantitative healthcare analytics role.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a history of translating analytical findings into clear business and clinical implications for non-technical audiences.

• Comfortable using AI tools and capable of leveraging Claude Code and Snowflake Cortex to enhance the speed and rigor of analytics deliverables.

• Experience in musculoskeletal care, specialty care, virtual care, provider network analytics, or population health initiatives.

• Background in producing client-facing outcomes and ROI reports, including direct presentations of results to employer or health plan stakeholders.

• Familiarity with analytics engineering practices (dbt or similar frameworks) and dashboard development workflows.

• Experience collaborating with actuarial teams on savings validation or contract performance measurement.
