This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take ownership of and implement the multi-year roadmap for the Telematics hardware platform, from initial concept to end-of-life.
• Engage directly with operational executives from existing and potential customers.
• Collaborate with Sales on strategic initiatives, conduct executive briefings and field visits, and guarantee customer success with hardware solutions.
• Manage revenue growth, attachment rates, cost and margin objectives, as well as business cases for the introduction of new products.
• Coordinate the efforts of Sales, Marketing/GTM, Finance, Operations, and Engineering to align with the hardware strategy.
• Lead field validation, sales preparedness, and product launch initiatives.
• Collaborate with Applications Product Management teams to enhance cloud and edge-device solutions.
• Leverage customer, market, and fleet data to prioritize initiatives, establish the roadmap, and define the platform strategy.
• Mentor junior product managers.
• Advocate for and incorporate Samsara’s cultural principles into the team.
• Over 7 years of experience in product management, particularly with enterprise-grade, cloud-connected hardware products.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.
• Proven track record of successfully launching enterprise IT and/or IoT hardware products commercially.
• Experience overseeing commercial product lines at scale, including revenue of $100M or more for companies or product lines.
• Strong business acumen for balancing features, costs, development risks, and performance metrics.
• Capability to align Sales, Marketing/GTM, Finance, Operations, and Engineering with a product roadmap.
• Exceptional communication skills and comfort in presenting to customers, partners, and internal stakeholders at all levels.
• Demonstrated curiosity and a proactive approach, utilizing field inspections, interviews, research, and data analytics for insights into customer needs.
• Knowledgeable in CAN bus, OBD-II/J1939, telematics, sensors, wireless technologies, and edge AI.
• Familiar with contract manufacturing, FCC/PTCRB/carrier regulatory certification, and global supply chain operations.
• An MBA is advantageous.
• Must be able to secure and maintain the legal right to work at Samsara and within the specified work location.
