Senior Hardware Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Hampshire.

📋 Description

• Work collaboratively with engineering, project management, testing, and operational teams within small, multidisciplinary groups to fulfill schedule-driven customer needs.

• Design and create 3U and 6U VPX single-board computers, FPGA, switches, and I/O cards for high-speed data processing applications.

• Engineer custom form-factor systems that integrate cards, power supplies, and thermal management components, including Liquid-Flow-Through techniques.

• Convert system requirements into effective hardware designs.

• Engage in design decisions that impact performance, reliability, cost, and manufacturability.

• Conduct hardware design analysis, troubleshooting, and technical assessments throughout the development lifecycle.

• Assist in hardware verification, qualification, and production processes.

• Create and implement test plans while addressing technical challenges.

• Utilize engineering best practices to enhance product performance, reliability, and time-to-market.

• Establish and maintain technical procedures, design documentation, and engineering manuals.

• Offer technical direction and support to junior engineers.

• Participate in initiatives aimed at continuous improvement.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering is required.

• A Master’s degree is preferred.

• At least 5 years of experience in DoD embedded systems and hardware design.

• Experience in developing SBC, FPGA, switches, and I/O cards.

• Proficiency in designing mixed-signal, high-speed digital, analog, low-power, and high-current circuits in high-reliability settings.

• Familiarity with high-density interconnect PCB designs, including multi-layer boards, blind/buried vias, and uVia structures is preferred.

• Experience with Siemens Expedition DX Designer (SCH) and Siemens Expedition PCB tools is preferred.

• Capability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and produce results within a schedule-driven engineering framework.

• Strong problem-solving abilities to support complex hardware development tasks.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective collaboration across multidisciplinary teams.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

• US Citizenship is required.

• An active DoD security clearance is preferred.

• The position may necessitate exposure to export-controlled information and additional security screening.
