Senior Global Mobility Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Africa, +3 more countries.

📋 Description

• Oversee comprehensive management of work permits, visas, extensions, renewals, status modifications, and immigration evaluations from start to finish.

• Monitor expiration dates and proactively initiate renewals.

• Address escalated issues from employees, managers, and external service providers.

• Provide guidance to Onboarding, Offboarding, and Lifecycle teams regarding eligibility, documentation, and compliance.

• Ensure adherence to immigration regulations at global, regional, and local levels.

• Recognize potential risks and delays, track policy updates, and inform leadership.

• Keep the immigration knowledge base current by collaborating with external counsel and government entities.

• Deliver clear immigration guidance to internal teams and employees.

• Review the work of and mentor Junior Global Mobility Specialists.

• Assist the Lifecycle team during busy periods.

• Cultivate relationships with external counsel, vendors, and government representatives.

• Monitor processing times, approval rates, and regional challenges.

• Develop process enhancements to streamline mobility, ensuring compliance and improving employee experience.

⛳️ Requirements

• 4–6 years of experience in managing intricate, cross-border immigration cases.

• Solid knowledge of immigration compliance and cross-border workforce regulations across various jurisdictions.

• Proven experience in managing external immigration counsel and collaborating with government agencies on an international scale.

• Background in mentoring junior team members or evaluating their work.

• Practical knowledge of data privacy as it pertains to employee immigration records.

• Adaptable to a fast-paced, fully remote, and rapidly growing environment.

• Proficient in English.

• Proficiency in another language is an advantage.
