Senior Fund Accounting Associate

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Assist with accounting, valuation, and reporting tasks for over 27,000 funds on the AngelList platform

• Prepare manual fund accounting activities and address discrepancies

• Respond to investor inquiries and investigate new technical challenges

• Review post-closing actions and manage valuation and accounting updates

• Assess management and administrative fee calculations

• Conduct both ad hoc and scheduled financial reporting

• Collaborate directly with General Partners (GPs) and Limited Partners (LPs)

• Analyze portfolio company events and data to decide on appropriate valuation measures

• Assist in the preparation of both audited and unaudited financial statements

• Partner with audit firms to finalize annual audits

• Ensure that portfolio investment accounting adheres to GAAP standards while evaluating unique situations

• Maintain precise and current investment tracking systems

• Work alongside engineering teams to enhance automation and improve processes

• Take ownership of specific team roles and workflows

• Engage in various ad hoc projects

⛳️ Requirements

• 3–4+ years of demonstrated operational excellence within the financial industry

• Background in Fund Administration and Public Accounting

• Outstanding academic performance

• CPA license is highly preferred

• Capability to communicate effectively with portfolio companies and key investors

• Exceptional attention to detail

• Strong organizational skills and a passion for process

• Willingness to engage in hands-on data tasks

• Thorough understanding of core financial principles

• Keen interest in venture finance, including its legal, accounting, tax, and finance aspects

• Openness to embrace regular changes and enhance products and processes
