Senior Functional Consultant, Business Central

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee functional implementations from the discovery phase to go-live, encompassing requirements gathering, solution design, configuration, testing, training, and deployment.

• Act as a trusted functional advisor to clients throughout the entire implementation process.

• Facilitate discovery sessions and workshops to grasp business requirements and convert them into scalable Business Central solutions.

• Configure standard functionalities within Business Central and work in tandem with technical teams and implementation partners.

• Engage in solution design discussions, product demonstrations, project scoping, and customer presentations.

• Assist clients in navigating complex functional challenges while proposing practical, scalable solutions.

• Educate end users and administrators and create clear implementation documentation.

• Ensure successful project delivery by identifying risks, addressing functional issues, and maintaining strong alignment with stakeholders.

• Collaborate with internal product, consulting, and customer-facing teams to enhance implementation methodologies continuously.

• Recognize recurring customer needs and provide actionable insights to product teams.

• Suggest enhancements, process improvements, automation opportunities, and AI-enabled strategies that enhance customer outcomes.

• Contribute to best practices and help bolster the capabilities of the wider consulting team.

• Evolve into a senior functional resource for both customers and internal teams.

• Impact consulting methodologies and the best practices for implementation.

• Assume a leading role in intricate and strategic customer engagements.

• Partner with leadership to enhance delivery quality and operational efficiency.

• Assist in the integration of AI, automation, and contemporary consulting practices within implementation workflows.

• Play a role in the ongoing growth and transformation of the professional services organization.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in functional consulting for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.

• Proven track record of leading Business Central implementations from the discovery stage to deployment.

• In-depth knowledge of core Business Central modules: Sales, Purchasing, Inventory, Jobs/Projects, and Fixed Assets.

• Significant experience in requirements gathering, solution design, functional configuration, and user acceptance testing.

• Exceptional customer-facing communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.

• Experience in facilitating workshops and advising business and executive stakeholders.

• Ability to collaborate effectively with implementation partners, developers, product teams, and other cross-functional stakeholders.

• Strong consultative approach, balancing customer needs with scalable solution design.

• Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and ownership of complex customer engagements.

• Interest in AI, automation, and process enhancement, with the capability to identify opportunities to utilize modern tools in consulting workflows.

• Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central certification is advantageous.

• Experience with ISV or industry-specific Business Central solutions is a plus.

• Willingness to travel approximately 20–25%, primarily for customer meetings, strategic implementations, workshops, and key project milestones.
