Senior Fullstack Mobile Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Cyprus.

📋 Description

• Implement features, address bugs, and resolve production incidents for both iOS and Android platforms, extending to the backend and web frontend dependencies of the product — ensuring delivery of tested and production-ready output that aligns with the team's quality standards.

• Take full ownership of mobile initiatives from start to finish — gather requirements, design the approach, break tasks into manageable components, implement, and deliver to production for both iOS and Android, including necessary backend and web frontend modifications.

• Serve as the primary technical point of contact for the team regarding complex mobile issues — diagnose root causes across the app, native layers, networking, and platform behavior, while preventing future occurrences.

• Conduct code and design reviews for accuracy — focusing on component and navigation structures, rendering, native integration, and adherence to mobile best practices — identifying issues before release.

• Contribute to and enhance mobile engineering standards within the team — including component architecture, native integration, testing, and release policies.

• Oversee the operational health of delivered work — track releases and staged rollouts, monitor release health, and respond to post-release issues on both platforms.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of professional software development experience, with at least 3 years specializing in React Native.

• Expertise in React Native and TypeScript as the primary skill set.

• Strong foundational knowledge of JavaScript — including asynchronous programming, event loop behavior, and error handling.

• Familiarity with relational and document databases — encompassing data modeling, querying, and indexing.

• Understanding of RESTful API design and HTTP principles — capable of working with Node.js backend services, API contracts, database queries, and web frontend code.

• Acquainted with native iOS and Android platforms as well as their development tools (Xcode, Android Studio, Gradle).

• Insight into mobile OS fundamentals — including app lifecycle, background execution, permissions, and memory constraints.

• Experience with automated testing methodologies (unit, integration, E2E).

• Knowledge of mobile security practices — secure storage and management of sensitive and payment information.

• Regular use of AI-assisted development tools for research, troubleshooting, and implementation.

• Ability to independently diagnose common React Native production issues — including rendering, navigation, networking, and app lifecycle.

• Proven track record of managing mobile initiatives from inception to store release, including necessary backend and web frontend modifications.

• Experience in designing mobile application architecture — evaluating performance, reliability, and observability trade-offs across iOS and Android.

• Background in designing or integrating native modules and SDKs when React Native abstractions fall short — including focused Swift/Kotlin modifications and debugging across JavaScript and native layers.

• Experience overseeing the release process — including app signing, store submission, and staged rollouts.

• Proven experience in establishing mobile engineering practices from the ground up — including standards, CI/CD, and release processes — across both inherited and greenfield codebases.

• Experience designing resilient asynchronous and event-driven backend interactions (such as messaging and queues).

• Background in mobile production operations — including monitoring, crash reporting, incident response, and rollback policies.

• Demonstrated capacity to mentor and develop less experienced engineers.

• Proficiency in English sufficient for daily written and verbal communication.
