This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Armenia.
• Develop features, address bugs, and manage production incidents for both iOS and Android platforms, including the backend and web frontend dependencies — ensuring tested, production-ready deliverables that align with the team's quality standards.
• Take full ownership of mobile projects — collect requirements, design the methodology, break down tasks, implement solutions, and deploy to production across iOS and Android, incorporating the necessary backend and web frontend modifications.
• Serve as the main technical escalation point for intricate mobile challenges — investigate root causes across the application, native components, networking, and platform behavior, while preventing future occurrences.
• Conduct code and design reviews for accuracy — assessing component and navigation structures, rendering, native integration, and compliance with mobile patterns — identifying issues prior to release.
• Contribute to and enhance mobile engineering best practices within the team — focusing on component architecture, native integration, testing, and release policies.
• Oversee the operational health of deployed work — monitor releases and staged rollouts, track release health, and address post-release challenges on both platforms.
• Over 8 years of professional software development experience, including a minimum of 3 years with React Native.
• Expertise in React Native and TypeScript — the primary focus of the role.
• Strong foundation in JavaScript — covering asynchronous programming, event loop behavior, and error management.
• Familiarity with relational and document databases — including data modeling, querying, and indexing.
• Knowledge of RESTful API design and HTTP principles — capable of collaborating across Node.js backend services, API contracts, database queries, and web frontend code.
• Experience with the native iOS and Android platforms and their respective tools (Xcode, Android Studio, Gradle).
• Understanding of mobile operating system fundamentals — covering app lifecycle, background execution, permissions, and memory limitations.
• Proficient in automated testing methodologies (unit, integration, E2E).
• Awareness of mobile security practices — ensuring secure storage and handling of sensitive and payment information.
• Comfortable using AI-assisted development tools in daily tasks — for research, troubleshooting, and implementation purposes.
• Ability to independently troubleshoot common React Native production challenges — including rendering, navigation, networking, and app lifecycle issues.
• Proven history of managing mobile projects from start to finish — from requirements gathering to store release, including necessary backend and web frontend changes.
• Experience in designing mobile application architecture — balancing trade-offs in performance, reliability, and observability across iOS and Android platforms.
• Skilled in designing or integrating native modules and SDKs when React Native abstractions fall short — including specific Swift/Kotlin modifications and debugging between JavaScript and native layers.
• Competent in managing the release process — including app signing, store submission, and staged rollouts.
• Experience in establishing mobile engineering practices from the ground up — setting standards, CI/CD, and release processes across both inherited and greenfield codebases.
• Knowledge of creating resilient asynchronous and event-driven backend interactions (messaging, queues).
• Experience with mobile production operations — including monitoring, crash reporting, incident response, and rollback strategies.
• Proven ability to mentor and nurture less experienced engineers.
• Proficient in English for daily written and verbal communication.
• 31 days of leave.
• Fully covered telemedicine plan.
• Home Office Setup Support: assistance in purchasing office furniture (chair, desk, monitor) and other items to create an ergonomic workspace.
• English language courses.
• Opportunities for relevant professional development.
• Gym or swimming pool access.
• Co-working space availability.
• Flexibility for remote work.
