This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +3 more countries.
• Architect, engage in discussions, design, and implement systems within the Scratch ecosystem, which includes application processes, risk assessments, payment processing, public-facing APIs, and event-driven integrations.
• Develop clean, maintainable code for backend services and frontend components that support the lending business and third-party integrations.
• Enhance overall quality and test coverage through comprehensive end-to-end testing.
• Advance and refine Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery pipelines.
• Take part in daily stand-up meetings, sprint planning, code reviews, and agile team collaboration.
• Identify potential blockers and architectural challenges.
• Manage incident response and debugging for personal code and shared services.
• Participate in post-mortem reviews.
• Remain updated on best practices and industry trends.
• Convert product requirements into implementation plans and functional code.
• Utilize automated test coverage and AI-assisted development.
• Must be available to work within UTC-3 to UTC-8 time zones.
• Proficiency in English is mandatory.
• A minimum of 5 years of professional experience as a software engineer.
• Strong backend expertise with Node.js and TypeScript.
• Experience in developing RESTful APIs.
• Frontend experience with React is required.
• Proficient in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Practical knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases, including MySQL, PostgreSQL, Firestore, and Redis.
• Experience in working with domain-based monorepos that have independently deployable backend services.
• Familiarity with best practices in cloud infrastructure.
• Ability to transition between different programming languages and frameworks.
• Understanding of Agile and Scrum methodologies.
• Capability to collaborate cross-functionally with product and engineering stakeholders.
• Exceptional problem-solving abilities, clear communication skills, and a proactive approach.
• Nice to have: Experience with Google Cloud Platform, CI/CD, Kubernetes, and Docker.
• Nice to have: Knowledge of PHP and/or Golang.
• Nice to have: Experience in risk modeling and underwriting.
• Nice to have: Familiarity with payment processing solutions.
