Senior Full-Stack Staff Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Lead the design and implementation of intricate full-stack solutions across frontend, backend, API, and platform integration layers

• Provide architectural guidance for web applications that are scalable, maintainable, secure, and high-performing

• Drive technical decisions across various services, repositories, and shared components

• Transform business and product requirements into technical designs, execution strategies, and delivery timelines

• Identify architectural deficiencies, technical debt, and platform constraints, proposing practical solutions

• Develop and steer modern web experiences utilizing JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Node.js, REST/GraphQL APIs, cloud services, and CI/CD pipelines

• Own key technical deliverables from design to implementation, validation, release, and post-production monitoring

• Deconstruct large initiatives into epics, stories, dependencies, and implementation strategies

• Address complex production challenges, integration issues, and inter-system dependencies

• Incorporate testability, automation, and observability into the development lifecycle

• Define strategies for unit, integration, functional, E2E, and production validation

• Enhance web performance, including Core Web Vitals, page load times, bundle optimization, caching, and API efficiency

• Boost developer productivity through reusable frameworks, shared libraries, tooling, documentation, and optimized workflows

• Collaborate with Product, XD, Program, Content, Marketing, DevOps, Security, Data/Analytics, and engineering teams

• Articulate technical trade-offs and present risks, mitigation strategies, and recommendations to stakeholders

• Mentor senior and mid-level engineers through design evaluations, code reviews, technical discussions, and delivery execution

• Uphold high standards in architecture, quality, documentation, reliability, and operational readiness

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of software engineering experience with robust hands-on expertise in full-stack web applications

• Extensive experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Next.js, or similar frontend frameworks

• Strong backend development experience with Node.js, Java, Python, or comparable technologies

• Expertise in designing and integrating RESTful APIs, GraphQL APIs, microservices, or distributed systems

• Proven ability to lead intricate technical initiatives across engineers, teams, services, or repositories

• In-depth understanding of web performance, accessibility, security, scalability, reliability, and observability

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, production deployments, and release validation

• Strong skills in system design and sound decision-making in architectural trade-offs

• Ability to influence technical direction without direct authority

• Exceptional communication skills for explaining complex technical subjects to engineering and business stakeholders

• Preferred: experience with large-scale web, commerce, marketing technology, or customer-facing digital platforms

• Preferred: experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP

• Preferred: experience with content management systems, experimentation, personalization, analytics instrumentation, or commerce checkout processes

• Preferred: experience with micro-frontends, monorepos, shared component libraries, design systems, or platform engineering

• Preferred: experience enhancing developer experience, engineering productivity, and CI/CD automation

• Preferred: experience with Dynatrace, Catchpoint, Splunk, Datadog, CloudWatch, or similar observability platforms

• Exposure to AI-assisted engineering or agentic engineering workflows is a plus
