Senior Full-Stack Engineer, Internal Tools

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take charge of the technical direction for Internal Tools, which encompasses front-end architecture as well as component and design system strategy, transforming product requirements into technical designs and engineering tasks.

• Create and develop new internal tools and administrative features from start to finish, covering both front-end and back-end.

• Implement recommendation, ranking, and search methodologies for internal tools, collaborating with data science and product teams to prioritize effectively.

• Mitigate technical debt through focused refactoring efforts and establish engineering standards via design reviews.

• Develop reusable components and tools that can be utilized across various projects.

• Act as the escalation point for advanced debugging and collaborate with security teams to ensure the safety of admin interfaces.

• Support the growth of engineers through pairing, code reviews, and providing direct feedback.

• Create specifications and documentation to aid team execution.

• Convert product requirements and technical vision into detailed specifications, system designs, and implementation strategies.

• Maintain a balance between hands-on coding and technical leadership, roughly in an 80/20 ratio.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of software development experience, with a proven ability to deliver scalable systems.

• Exceptional skills in system design and architecture.

• Extensive knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript and Node.js.

• Advanced skills in React, suitable for production environments.

• Practical experience with PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or Elasticsearch, including optimization for performance.

• Experience in constructing and scaling backend systems, preferably in a startup or small business setting.

• A history of mentoring other engineers.

• Production-level experience with Next.js.

• Familiarity with recommendation, ranking, or search systems.

• A product-oriented mindset focused on user experience.

• Experience in developing internal tools or operational platforms.

• Comfort with cloud infrastructure, Docker/Kubernetes, and CI/CD practices.

• Knowledge of prompt engineering, fine-tuning, or deploying machine learning in production environments.
