This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
β’ Drive the development of key features from initial concept to final release, including scoping, architecture, implementation, and deployment.
β’ Take ownership of entire product areas from start to finish, covering the institution admin experience, faculty tools for configuring AI assistants, and the student-facing product.
β’ Collaborate with product and design teams to transform vague customer requirements into tangible, shippable products.
β’ Deliver end-to-end features using TypeScript across the client, server, and database layers.
β’ Develop and enhance the integrations that link Nectir to existing institutional systems.
β’ Write high-performance, typed, and well-tested code that is safe to modify.
β’ Troubleshoot production issues across the entire stack, from client applications to background services.
β’ Elevate standards for code quality, test coverage, and architectural clarity.
β’ Collaborate with DevOps on deployment strategies, observability, and incident management.
β’ Utilize AI coding tools as an integral part of your development process.
β’ Define the scope of work so that agents manage tasks they excel at, allowing you to focus on areas they do not cover.
β’ Work alongside AI engineering to develop product features that intersect with the platform.
β’ Mentor fellow team members, conduct thorough code reviews, and enhance the engineering culture.
β’ Participate in architectural decision-making as the platform grows.
β’ Communicate effectively in an asynchronous, distributed work environment.
β’ Strong foundation in full-stack engineering, encompassing systems thinking, debugging, architecture, and the ability to analyze code you didn't write.
β’ Extensive experience with TypeScript on both frontend and backend; our entire technology stack is built on TypeScript.
β’ Proven history of shipping and managing significant, user-facing features in production web applications.
β’ Familiarity with relational databases, particularly Postgres.
β’ Product-oriented mindset: you create cohesive user experiences rather than just individual features, possessing intuition for what will resonate with users before launch.
β’ Proficient use of AI coding tools as part of your daily routine; fluency in this area is essential as we operate as an AI-focused company.
β’ Self-motivated and proactive in communication; you manage your own schedule, meet deadlines, and identify potential blockers before they escalate.
