
Senior Full Stack Developer β Geospatial Services

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
β’ Create and develop comprehensive full stack solutions that transform business and operational requirements into scalable and secure front-end and back-end applications utilizing GIS technologies.
β’ Take ownership of the entire delivery process, including solution design, development, testing, deployment, and ongoing improvements.
β’ Document and make architectural and design choices while integrating enterprise GIS, open-source frameworks, and custom components.
β’ Design and implement integrations and spatial data workflows that connect GIS services with enterprise applications, APIs, and data platforms.
β’ Facilitate the use of generative and agentic AI throughout the development lifecycle, ensuring output validation and protection of sensitive information.
β’ Lead hands-on technical delivery, provide design guidance, mentor developers, and establish engineering and quality standards.
β’ Maintain quality, security, and reliability through Git-based source control, CI/CD, automated testing, and application lifecycle management.
β’ Offer production support, troubleshoot issues, minimize technical debt, decommission legacy components, and promote reusable patterns and services.
β’ Collaborate with cross-functional teams and users in a continuously iterative delivery environment.
β’ Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
β’ At least 4 years of experience in designing, developing, deploying, and maintaining scalable web applications end-to-end within cross-functional Agile teams.
β’ Strong expertise in JavaScript/TypeScript and front-end frameworks such as React.
β’ Experience in back-end development with C#/.NET, Node.js, Python, or similar technologies.
β’ Familiarity with relational and NoSQL databases, cloud platforms, and authentication/authorization protocols such as OAuth2, OpenID Connect, or JWT.
β’ Proficient in Git-based source control, CI/CD pipelines, automated unit, integration, and end-to-end testing, as well as DevOps practices, production support, and application lifecycle/change management.
β’ Capability to lead hands-on technical delivery, make architectural decisions, mentor developers, and provide reliable production solutions.
β’ Practical experience with generative AI and agentic development tools, including the critical assessment of AI-generated outputs.
β’ Background in designing and developing applications that integrate GIS services using Esri ArcGIS and/or open-source GIS technologies.
β’ Working knowledge of coordinate reference systems, spatial data, and web services.
β’ Ability to navigate various technology stacks and quickly adapt to new tools and project settings.
β’ Alternative qualification: a related two-year diploma plus six years of relevant experience.
β’ Alternative qualification: a related one-year certificate plus seven years of relevant experience.
β’ Final candidates will be subject to security screening.
β’ A written assessment may be required.
β’ Preferred skills include familiarity with Esri application stack, spatial ETL/integration tools, enterprise geodatabase design, spatial database administration, mobile or field spatial solutions, API/event-driven integration, SRE practices, AI-augmented workflows, technical documentation, and relevant professional certifications.
