Senior Full Stack Developer – Contractor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Develop, maintain, and enhance user-facing features utilizing the Svelte SPA, from the design handoff to deployment.

• Convert product requirements and design mockups into clean, scalable, and reusable front-end code.

• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to deliver high-quality features from start to finish.

• Contribute to backend logic and APIs using Ruby on Rails as needed.

• Ensure consistent application of design systems and UI standards.

• Optimize applications for performance, responsiveness, and compatibility across different browsers.

• Write maintainable, well-tested front-end code and engage in code reviews.

• Integrate WCAG accessibility best practices into front-end development.

• Identify and address technical debt as well as improvements in front-end architecture.

• Assist in establishing front-end best practices, tooling decisions, and technical standards.

• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers while providing constructive feedback during code reviews.

• Troubleshoot and resolve issues across the front end and, when necessary, the Rails backend.

• Keep up-to-date with evolving front-end technologies and apply insights where applicable.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of professional experience as a front-end or full stack developer.

• Strong expertise in JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.

• Experience in building SPAs with a modern front-end framework; Svelte, React, Vue, or a similar technology.

• Comfortable working with REST APIs.

• Some backend experience; Ruby on Rails is preferred but not mandatory.

• Strong attention to detail with a user-centric approach.

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams.

• Experience in mentoring others is a plus.
