Senior Full-Stack Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Europe.

📋 Description

• Become a part of our dedicated team of skilled senior developers and work on both frontend and backend features, enhancing OpenProject in a secure, thoroughly tested, and efficient manner.

• Write code that aligns with our internal standards for style, maintainability, and best practices suitable for a high-scale web environment.

• Uphold and promote these standards through code reviews.

• Champion enhancements to product quality, security, and performance.

• Address prioritized bugs from our bug backlog.

• Tackle complex technical challenges with high degrees of difficulty.

• Identify obstacles to our team’s efficiency (referred to as "technical debt"), and suggest and implement solutions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Several years of experience in developing both frontend and backend components of web applications using Ruby on Rails.

• Strong grasp of fundamental web and browser concepts (e.g., understanding how JavaScript handles asynchronous code), CSS and semantic HTML, core JavaScript principles, Ruby on Rails, Turbo+Stimulus, Angular, React, or any other contemporary frontend framework.

• Practical knowledge of effective code scalability.

• Comfortable working within a highly agile and intensely iterative software development process.

• Experience managing a project from inception to production, including proposal, discussion, and execution.

• Strong communication abilities to achieve consensus with colleagues and provide clear status updates in a remote environment.

• A passion for open source software development.

• Proficient in the English language, both written and spoken.
