This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Develop, maintain, and enhance user-facing features utilizing the Svelte SPA, from design handoff to deployment.
• Convert product specifications and design prototypes into efficient, scalable, and reusable front-end code.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to ensure the delivery of high-quality features from start to finish.
• Contribute to the Ruby on Rails backend logic and APIs as necessary.
• Guarantee consistent application of design systems and UI standards.
• Optimize applications for performance, responsiveness, and compatibility across various browsers.
• Produce maintainable, well-tested front-end code and engage in code reviews.
• Implement WCAG accessibility best practices in front-end development.
• Identify and tackle technical debt and enhancements in front-end architecture.
• Assist in establishing front-end best practices, tooling choices, and technical standards.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers while providing constructive feedback during code reviews.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues across the front end and, when necessary, the Rails backend.
• Stay updated with the latest front-end technologies and apply relevant insights.
• Over 5 years of professional experience as a front-end or full stack developer.
• Strong expertise in JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
• Experience in building SPAs with a modern front-end framework; familiarity with Svelte, React, Vue, or similar is preferred.
• Proficient working with REST APIs.
• Some experience with backend development; Ruby on Rails is preferred but not mandatory.
• Strong attention to detail with a user-centric approach.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
• Comfortable providing mentorship to others.
• Nice to have: Experience with Ruby on Rails or similar backend frameworks.
• Nice to have: Familiarity with TypeScript.
• Nice to have: Experience with browser-side analytics tools like Google Tag Manager or Amplitude.
• Nice to have: Knowledge of testing frameworks such as RSpec and Jest.
• Nice to have: Exposure to accessibility standards and inclusive design.
• Nice to have: Background in healthcare, mental health, or regulated environments.
• Nice to have: Experience in a startup or rapidly scaling product team.
