Senior Full Stack Developer, 4 Months

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Oversee the transition of enterprise SQL Server databases to PostgreSQL, ensuring data integrity, high performance, and minimal downtime.

• Transform and enhance SQL Server database objects, such as stored procedures, triggers, functions, views, and intricate T-SQL logic into PostgreSQL/PL/pgSQL.

• Design, implement, and support database migration strategies utilizing AWS Database Migration Service (DMS), Schema Conversion Tool (SCT), and replication/CDC-based cutover methodologies.

• Create, maintain, and improve backend services using C# and, when necessary, Node.js.

• Assist in the modernization of the application data access layer, including development in C++ when required.

• Develop and support cloud-native applications and services on AWS, utilizing technologies such as Lambda, ECS, SQS, EventBridge, CloudFront, ALB, and Aurora PostgreSQL.

• Create and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform and support automated deployment pipelines via GitLab CI/CD.

• Collaborate with architects, developers, QA teams, and business stakeholders to achieve migration milestones and enhance the platform.

• Participate in application regression testing using Jest and Playwright where relevant.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline (or equivalent hands-on experience).

• Over 7 years of professional full-stack software development experience.

• Extensive experience with Microsoft SQL Server, including T-SQL, stored procedures, triggers, SQL Agent, and query optimization.

• Solid experience with PostgreSQL and PL/pgSQL, including the rewriting of complex procedural logic.

• Practical experience with SQL Server to PostgreSQL migrations, encompassing:

• AWS Database Migration Service (DMS)

• AWS Schema Conversion Tool (SCT)

• Change Data Capture (CDC) and replication-based cutover processes

• Data migration validation and reconciliation (row-level, aggregate, and business-rule validation)

• Strong backend development capabilities with C# and familiarity with Node.js.

• Experience with PostgreSQL, SQL Server, and DynamoDB.

• Proficient in AWS services, including Aurora/RDS PostgreSQL, Lambda, ECS, SQS, CloudFront, ALB, and EventBridge.

• Familiarity with Terraform for Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
