This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +3 more states.
β’ Develop policies, strategies, and best practices to facilitate the integration of the Coast Guard's cloud infrastructure.
β’ Oversee the software design and architectural development for high-performance services hosted on large compute clusters and AWS Cloud Infrastructure.
β’ Establish an IL4 Landing Zone utilizing Immortal Jellyfish, foundational platform, automated deployment, and reusable templates.
β’ Direct the testing strategy, performance optimization, and enhancement of cloud-native applications.
β’ Guarantee the high availability and efficiency of services hosted in the cloud.
β’ Partner with a cross-functional team to innovate and implement cloud-based services.
β’ Spearhead the design and implementation of software solutions on extensive compute clusters and AWS Cloud Infrastructure.
β’ Mentor junior team members and improve processes.
β’ Assess technical requirements, develop task breakdowns, and ensure the accuracy and completeness of designs.
β’ Possession of a Top Secret security clearance.
β’ A minimum of twelve (12) years of experience in software development/engineering, which includes requirements analysis, software creation, installation, integration, evaluation, enhancement, maintenance, testing, and troubleshooting.
β’ A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline is required; degrees in Mathematics, Information Systems, Engineering, or comparable technical fields are also acceptable.
β’ Relevant experience, certifications, and demonstrated skills can be considered in lieu of a degree.
β’ A Master's degree in a technical field may replace two years of experience.
β’ A PhD in a technical field may offset four years of experience.
β’ Extensive experience in designing and developing AWS Cloud Architecture.
β’ Familiarity with AWS compute, storage, and event-driven application services.
β’ Proficiency in object-oriented or functional programming languages such as Java, JavaScript, C/C++, Python, or Rust.
β’ Competence with AWS SDKs/APIs and Infrastructure as Code tools like CloudFormation or Terraform.
β’ Knowledge of agile development methodologies.
β’ Experience with Git, Maven, Jira, and version control systems.
β’ Understanding of containerization, build systems, and infrastructure automation with Docker and Kubernetes.
β’ Capability to conduct high-level requirements analysis, software development, integration, and testing independently.
