This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Identifying, prioritizing, and resolving issues related to unnecessary renders, prolonged tasks, memory leaks, forced reflows, layout shifts, costly painting, and excessive JavaScript execution.
• Establish and enhance measurable performance goals utilizing real-user monitoring, Lighthouse, synthetic testing, Chrome DevTools traces, and business metrics relevant to the product.
• Create performance budgets, dashboards, and alerts.
• Elevate the performance capabilities of the wider organization through technical presentations, workshops, documentation, mentoring, code reviews, and reusable tools.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline (or equivalent practical experience).
• Extensive knowledge of modern front-end frameworks (React, Angular, Vue, Svelte, etc.), along with TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS, particularly in a front-end heavy, high-traffic consumer web application.
• Advanced proficiency with Chrome DevTools, React Profiler, Lighthouse, CPU profiles, flame charts, network waterfalls, and performance traces.
• Senior-level technical leadership capabilities, including the ability to independently identify high-impact tasks, influence architectural decisions, and provide guidance to teams beyond your immediate area.
• Strong comprehension of browser internals, encompassing JavaScript execution, style calculation, layout, painting, rasterization, and compositing.
• Demonstrated experience in enhancing Core Web Vitals, such as Largest Contentful Paint, Interaction to Next Paint, and Cumulative Layout Shift using real-user data.
• Practical experience in diagnosing memory leaks through heap snapshots, allocation profiles, garbage collection analysis, and detection of detached DOM nodes.
• Competence in optimizing rendering, hydration, bundle size, code splitting, main-thread work, third-party scripts, and frontend asset delivery.
