Senior Front End Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Costa Rica.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of and deliver both public-facing and internal features that enhance user experience, performance, and SEO.

• Collaborate cross-functionally with Product Managers, designers, backend engineers, and Quality Assurance on an agile team.

• Design and implement customer-facing features utilizing Angular, React, and TypeScript that align with performance, accessibility (a11y), and SEO objectives.

• Work alongside product and design teams to convert requirements into technical designs and estimates.

• Write clean, testable code while maintaining a component-driven design system.

• Contribute to architectural considerations and non-functional requirements such as scalability, security, and observability.

• Enhance site speed and Core Web Vitals by optimizing bundles, rendering strategies, and caching techniques.

• Implement and sustain automated tests including unit, integration, and E2E tests.

• Participate in sprint planning, code reviews, and the delivery process from story inception through production rollout.

• Provide support for production services on a rotational basis and troubleshoot incidents to reduce downtime.

• Mentor colleagues and elevate the engineering standards within the team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 3 years of professional experience in building production-ready applications using Angular.

• More than 5 years of professional front-end development experience (or equivalent demonstrable experience).

• At least 3 years of experience in building production applications with React and TypeScript.

• Strong expertise in modern front-end tools: bundlers (webpack/Vite/Gulp), state management, component libraries, and design systems.

• Demonstrated ability to deliver features that are used in production while managing them throughout their lifecycle.

• Proven experience utilizing agentic AI tools (such as Claude or GitHub Copilot) to streamline front-end development workflows, including code generation, component creation, and performance enhancement.

• Capability to mentor team members on effective AI usage, establishing best practices, identifying high-leverage opportunities, and promoting a culture of thoughtful, responsible AI adoption across the engineering team.

• Experience in embedding generative AI features directly into user-facing applications, including intelligent interfaces, dynamic content generation, and LLM-powered experiences.

• Proficiency in writing automated tests (Jest/React Testing Library, Cypress, or similar).

• Strong understanding of web performance optimization, SEO basics, and accessibility best practices.

• Familiarity with secure development practices and fundamental security testing concepts.

• Experience working within agile teams and collaborating across various disciplines.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Exposure to AI-assisted development workflows and prompt engineering best practices.
