Senior FreeCAD Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop, modify, and validate intricate parametric CAD models in FreeCAD in accordance with project specifications.

• Design and enhance mechanical assemblies by utilizing best practices in assembly design and component integration.

• Implement Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles to guarantee manufacturability and quality.

• Create technical drawings and documentation for engineering evaluations and subsequent processes.

• Perform engineering quality assurance reviews of CAD models and drawings to identify, communicate, and assist in resolving issues.

• Utilize Python scripting for CAD automation tasks to optimize repetitive or complex modeling activities.

• Offer insights on model precision, design intent, and opportunities for process enhancements.

• Leverage domain expertise to assist in training next-generation AI systems through high-quality real-world contributions.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in mechanical engineering, product design, industrial engineering, or a related discipline, with an emphasis on parametric CAD modeling.

• Advanced expertise in FreeCAD or similar parametric CAD software.

• In-depth understanding of mechanical design principles, including GD&T and DFM best practices.

• Capability to create detailed technical drawings and documentation for manufacturing and assembly processes.

• Experience in conducting engineering quality assurance and validating model integrity and adherence to specifications.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities pertinent to remote, project-based collaboration.

• Proficiency in Python scripting for CAD automation is highly desirable but not essential.

• No previous AI experience is necessary.
