This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.
• Take ownership of and enhance fraud detection and prevention strategies throughout the fraud lifecycle.
• Oversee and refine the fraud rules platform, which includes developing new rules, improving current rules, testing modifications, validating outputs, and tracking performance.
• Examine fraud detection outcomes to pinpoint trends in false positives and false negatives, and suggest strategic adjustments that enhance fraud capture while reducing customer friction.
• Detect and address new and evolving fraud trends, attack patterns, and typologies across various fraud risks.
• Perform root cause analyses of fraud incidents, losses, rule misses, and control failures, and convert insights into actionable recommendations.
• Utilize fraud tools, analytics, reporting, and available data sources to uncover suspicious activities and support strategy enhancement.
• Assist in developing and advancing fraud capabilities in a new or evolving environment, which includes aiding process development, rules governance, documentation standards, and performance monitoring practices.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with teams in risk, operations, compliance, legal, technology, product, and customer-facing roles to enhance fraud controls and support strategic initiatives.
• Work alongside internal technology teams and external providers to improve fraud systems, rules management capabilities, analytics, reporting, and detection tools.
• Track fraud trends and key performance indicators, and relay findings, risks, and opportunities to leadership and business partners.
• Produce clear and concise documentation, analyses, summaries, and presentations regarding fraud trends, rule changes, strategy performance, and control recommendations.
• Identify opportunities to enhance workflows, controls, reporting, and fraud decision strategies, and contribute to continuous improvement efforts across the function.
• Address urgent or high-priority fraud issues that require prompt analysis, strategy modifications, and cross-functional collaboration.
• Safeguard confidential information and ensure appropriate handling of sensitive data in line with company expectations and standards.

• Assist with additional projects and responsibilities as necessary.
• 3–7 years of progressive experience in fraud strategy, fraud investigations, financial crimes, or risk management within financial services.
• Background in fraud and/or financial crime roles within banking, financial services, fintech, payments, retirement services, wealth services, or other highly regulated fields.
• Experience in creating, managing, tuning, or optimizing fraud rules and decision strategies within a fraud platform or rules-based setting.
• Proficient in analyzing fraud rule performance and leveraging data to assess outcomes, validate results, identify optimization opportunities, and enhance strategy effectiveness.
• Comprehensive understanding of fraud typologies and risk management practices across various fraud types, including identity fraud, account takeover, social engineering, payment fraud, mule activity, first-party fraud, and organized fraud schemes.
• Demonstrated ability to recognize emerging fraud patterns and translate findings into actionable recommendations, control improvements, and long-term strategy enhancements.
• Experience across fraud systems, rules management, fraud analytics and optimization, and fraud risk strategy.
• Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities, with the capability to interpret results, identify themes, assess risk, and provide sound recommendations.
• Ability to work autonomously, exercise sound judgment, and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
• Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills, with the capacity to communicate effectively at all organizational levels.
• Proven track record of identifying process improvement opportunities and transforming insights into practical solutions.
• Familiarity with fraud reporting, dashboarding, trend monitoring, or KPI/KRI development.
