This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Argentina, +5 more countries.
• Transform intricate technical requirements into effective solutions for ecommerce clients.
• Collaborate closely with merchant teams to integrate, enhance, and troubleshoot across various web platforms.
• Oversee the technical lifecycle from onboarding to optimization.
• Debug JavaScript and develop as well as refine transformation scripts.
• Set up caching rules and analyze complex CDN behaviors across Shopify, Salesforce Commerce Cloud, and custom storefronts.
• Create, review, and debug edge code to enhance caching, localization, and device performance.
• Monitor client implementations and swiftly address technical anomalies.
• Utilize browser DevTools, diagnostic tools, and internal APIs to assess and rectify latency or personalization issues in production.
• Act as the main technical contact for assigned merchant accounts.
• Develop documentation, tools, and processes to streamline onboarding and technical support.
• Offer field insights to the product team to inform feature improvements and roadmap decisions.
• Over 5 years of practical experience in software engineering, web performance, infrastructure engineering, solutions engineering, or a similar technical field.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience directly engaging with customers or external stakeholders in a technical role.
• Strong expertise in JavaScript.
• Direct experience using browser DevTools to examine and debug HTML, DOM elements, network requests, cookies, headers, and client-side behaviors.
• In-depth knowledge of HTTP caching, including cache keys, expiration, invalidation, purging, cookies, personalized content, and cache-safety risks.
• Practical experience configuring or troubleshooting CDNs, reverse proxies, edge platforms, or similar caching infrastructures.
• Experience assessing web performance using Core Web Vitals, LCP, TTFB, Real User Monitoring, Lighthouse, or similar observability tools.
• Demonstrated ability to investigate and resolve complex issues in live production settings using a systematic, evidence-based troubleshooting approach.
• Experience managing a customer launch, technical implementation, or migration from start to finish, including pre-launch validation, go/no-go decisions, and post-launch monitoring.
• Capability to communicate technical risks, limitations, delays, and difficult findings effectively to both technical and non-technical customers.
• Comfort in making and explaining rough technical estimates regarding traffic, latency, capacity, percentages, and performance impact.
• Advanced English communication skills.
• Availability for at least four hours of daily overlap with US Eastern business hours.
• Comfortable engaging in live technical working sessions using camera, screen sharing, browser tools, and real-time problem-solving.
• Preferred: experience working with e-commerce storefronts or e-commerce agencies.
• Preferred: familiarity with Shopify, including Liquid, Hydrogen, headless storefronts, or third-party Shopify applications.
• Preferred: experience with Salesforce Commerce Cloud/Demandware or other enterprise ecommerce platforms.
• Preferred: knowledge of edge computing platforms such as Cloudflare Workers, Fastly Compute, Akamai EdgeWorkers, Varnish, or similar technologies.
• Preferred: experience in web experimentation, personalization, or A/B testing frameworks.
• Preferred: experience working within GitHub-managed engineering workflows.
• Preferred: experience mentoring or providing technical guidance to junior engineers or support team members.
• Monthly salary ranging from $4,000 to $6,000 USD.
