Senior Forward Deployed Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take full ownership of customer rollouts from start to finish — including data integration, model development, validation, and production transition — serving as the primary technical lead.

• Create AI-driven automated test harnesses to verify each new product release against actual customer scenarios and models, ensuring that regressions are identified before they reach clients. This is a vital aspect of the role: you will leverage AI to generate, execute, and assess test cases on a large scale across various customer configurations.

• Develop and uphold data integrations between customer source systems (ERP, GL, data warehouses) and our platform, regarding them as robust, version-controlled engineering outputs instead of temporary scripts.

• Convert real-world requirements in financial and operational modeling into accurate, high-performance models on the platform.

• Identify and resolve data, performance, and accuracy issues — often delving deep into SQL, source data, and consolidation logic.

• Deliver bug fixes and feature enhancements directly to the platform — implement specific product modifications to assist customers and address gaps identified in the field, rather than merely submitting tickets and waiting for core engineering responses.

• Serve as a feedback conduit to product and engineering teams: highlight friction points, suggest solutions, and, when necessary, develop them.

• Collaborate with customer stakeholders in finance and operations, gaining trust as someone who comprehends their domain and can tailor the software to meet their needs.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of experience in software engineering, with significant exposure to EPM/CPM/financial planning products.

• Hands-on experience with platforms such as OneStream, Vena, Prophix, Anaplan, Planful, or TM1/Planning Analytics — in roles such as engineer, solutions architect, or deeply technical implementer.

• Proficient in a modern application programming language — Java, C#, or TypeScript — with the capability to read, enhance, and deploy changes in a production codebase.

• Experience in developing automated testing frameworks or harnesses, preferably utilizing AI or LLM-based strategies to generate, execute, and evaluate test cases at scale.

• Strong foundational knowledge in SQL and databases: schema design, query optimization, join and aggregation semantics, and data reasoning at scale.

• Integration experience with ERP/GL systems and data warehouses (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, Snowflake, BigQuery).

• A customer-oriented approach — able to facilitate working sessions, grasp domain nuances, and effectively communicate with finance stakeholders who may not be technically inclined.

• Good judgment regarding accuracy and auditability: you recognize that in financial systems, an incorrect figure is more detrimental than a slow one.

• Familiarity with financial consolidation, multi-entity/multi-currency management, allocations, or driver-based planning.

• Exposure to operational planning in CPG or manufacturing domains.

• Experience with AI-assisted or AI-native tools in a production data environment.

• A proven history of transforming recurring customer challenges into product enhancements.
