Senior Forward Deployed AI Engineer, GenAI, AWS

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut, +6 more states.

📋 Description

• Engage in the operator’s role for a duration of two to four weeks at the commencement of an engagement.

• Attain working fluency in new domains such as insurance underwriting, healthcare revenue cycle, and asset flow.

• Redesign business functions from foundational principles in collaboration with operators and Forward Deployed Executives.

• Deliver production GenAI systems, LLM applications, agentic workflows, retrieval and structured-extraction pipelines, and associated services.

• Construct evaluation harnesses, establish success metrics, instrument systems, and utilize evaluations to inform design decisions.

• Develop production code across backend services, data pipelines, and AI layers.

• Deploy containerized, observable, and maintainable systems on AWS or other relevant cloud platforms as necessary.

• Incorporate field learnings back into Provectus blueprints.

• Collaborate with Forward Deployed Executives to meet Business Unit KPIs.

• Facilitate adoption and integrate change management into engineering initiatives.

• Partner with customer engineers, operators, and executives.

• Define commitments and scope prior to the commencement of delivery.

⛳️ Requirements

• 8+ years of software development experience, with a significant emphasis on writing accountable production code.

• Willingness to undertake the operator’s responsibilities for two to four weeks before engaging in coding.

• Quick adaptability to unfamiliar business domains.

• Experience in deploying GenAI/LLM systems to production.

• Background in constructing or managing an evaluation suite for non-deterministic systems.

• Strong engineering fundamentals and effectiveness in navigating unfamiliar codebases or programming languages.

• Proficiency in Python and/or TypeScript.

• Experience with cloud-native AWS delivery, including containers, Kubernetes/ECS, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD), and operational tasks.

• Ability to engage credibly with senior business and technical stakeholders.

• Comfort in navigating ambiguity and taking ownership of projects.

• Robust foundations in AI/ML and an understanding of model failure modes.

• Significant hands-on production experience with Claude Code/Cowork.

• Proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
