Senior Forward Deployed AI Architect – GenAI, AWS

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colombia, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Execute the operator’s responsibilities for a duration of two to four weeks at the commencement of an engagement.

• Attain working fluency in new areas such as insurance underwriting, healthcare revenue cycle, and asset flow.

• Redesign business operations from foundational principles alongside operators and Forward Deployed Executives.

• Deliver production GenAI systems, which include LLM applications, agentic workflows, retrieval and structured-extraction pipelines, and other related services.

• Construct evaluation harnesses and define, instrument, and assess system performance in relation to business KPIs.

• Develop production code for backend services, data pipelines, and AI layers utilizing Python and TypeScript.

• Deploy containerized, observable, and maintainable systems on AWS, or GCP/Azure as required.

• Incorporate insights gained from engagements back into industry blueprints.

• Collaborate with Forward Deployed Executives to achieve Business Unit KPI outcomes.

• Facilitate adoption and manage change within the engineering role.

• Partner with customer engineers, operators, and executives; shape commitments prior to delivery.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of software development experience, with a significant portion dedicated to writing production code for which you were responsible. You are hands-on currently and plan to maintain that approach.

• Openness to spend weeks performing the operator’s role before engaging in coding.

• Proven ability to quickly gain knowledge in an unfamiliar business function.

• Experience in deploying GenAI/LLM systems to production.

• Background in creating or managing an evaluation suite for a non-deterministic system.

• Strong engineering fundamentals; able to be productive in unfamiliar codebases or programming languages.

• Proficiency in Python and/or TypeScript.

• Experience with cloud-native delivery on AWS, including containers, Kubernetes/ECS, IaC, and CI/CD practices.

• Ability to engage in redesign discussions with Business Unit heads and scoping discussions with CTOs.

• Comfort with ambiguity and a strong sense of ownership.

• Solid foundations in AI/ML and an understanding of model failure modes.

• Extensive hands-on production experience with Claude Code/Cowork.

• Proficient in English, both written and spoken.
