This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Create and enhance precise and robust energy forecasting models.

• Develop and refine control and optimization algorithms.

• Design, code, test, and deploy production-quality software for mission-critical forecasting and optimization products and associated algorithms.

• Construct and utilize tools and processes to monitor and evaluate the quality of operational forecasting and optimization models.

• Convert data from one of the largest distributed energy datasets in the electricity sector into actionable insights for electric utilities and other stakeholders in the energy industry.

• Offer guidance to fellow engineers and scientists on machine learning, forecasting, and optimization techniques.

• Present findings clearly to both internal and external stakeholders.

• Collaborate closely with various stakeholders within and outside of EnergyHub, including teams in Data Engineering, Client Success, Marketing, Sales, Product, and Market Development.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.


⛳️ Requirements

• A strong passion for facilitating a carbon-free, distributed energy future.

• A minimum of five years of experience in machine learning, statistical analysis, data visualization, control systems engineering, and/or mathematical optimization.

• Experience in developing data pipelines utilizing large-scale relational databases.

• Excellent mathematical skills, with the capability to apply new mathematical techniques to real-world challenges.

• At least three years of practical experience with Python and the scientific and machine learning tool stack (Pandas, Numpy, SciPy, Sklearn, PyTorch, and Tensorflow).

• Proven ability to extract valuable insights from large, complex datasets.

• Competence in conveying results from large-scale data analyses to diverse audiences in a manner that is clear, engaging, and actionable.

• A knack for enjoying the process of tackling challenging problems alongside exceptionally talented individuals.
