This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Implement and oversee fleet safety initiatives aimed at preventing incidents and reducing risks.
• Foster a culture prioritizing safety, anchored in accountability, engagement, and ongoing improvement.
• Work closely with operations supervisors and managers to integrate safety into everyday decision-making.
• Act as a prominent safety leader, offering support for supervisory coaching efforts.
• Evaluate incident patterns, telematics information, and near-miss reports to pinpoint high-risk behaviors.
• Create and execute targeted strategies addressing speeding, distractions, fatigue, and other risk factors.
• Conduct root cause analyses for incidents to identify underlying issues.
• Develop and manage driver coaching initiatives focused on enhancing safe driving practices.
• Provide training for leaders and supervisors on how to coach safe driving behaviors effectively.
• Establish metrics and routines to monitor behavior changes.
• Lead programs on defensive driving, fatigue risk management, driver onboarding, ongoing training, and in-cab technology.
• Assess program effectiveness and adapt strategies based on data insights.
• Utilize telematics, video analytics, dash cams, and other safety technologies to enhance safety measures.
• Convert data into practical safety enhancements and effective stakeholder communication.
• Direct incident review processes aimed at promoting learning and prevention.
• Manage the incident claims process in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
• Monitor theft and vehicle incident repair/replacement expenses and associated details.
• Identify systemic improvements resulting from incidents and near misses.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to execute corrective measures.
• Develop campaigns to raise safety awareness and engagement.
• Lead safety communications targeted at drivers and field teams.
• Acknowledge and reward safe behaviors and performance.
• Perform any other assigned responsibilities.
• Bachelor's degree in safety, transportation, or a related field is preferred.
• 7–10+ years of experience in safety, fleet safety, transportation safety, or risk management.
• Familiarity with telematics, dash cams, or fleet safety technologies.
• Ability to influence without direct authority and drive cultural change across distributed teams.
• Strong analytical abilities with the skill to convert data into actionable insights.
