This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Act as the expert on financial operations for clients.
• Oversee Associates while directing accounting and financial operations for various clients.
• Engage with clients to ensure precise and prompt financial data and platform management.
• Supervise Associates and manage client bookkeeping tasks, including bill payments, journal entries, account reconciliations, expense documentation, and payroll processing.
• Work alongside client managers to create and uphold working budgets.
• Offer insights on cash-flow forecasting.
• Collect data and prepare monthly and ad hoc reports along with financial statements.
• Analyze and interpret financial data and trends to deliver valuable insights.
• Lead the preparation and execution of audits and tax filings.
• Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and maintain financial transparency.
• Set shared expectations, provide context, and nurture client relationships through clear communication.
• Establish expectations, delegate responsibilities, and mentor Associates.
• Uphold the organization's values and cultivate a values-driven workplace.
• Initiate and lead special projects.
• Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned.
• 7–10 years of accounting experience managing full-cycle accounting processes.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP.
• Significant experience with QuickBooks Online.
• Supervisory experience with a compassionate leadership style.
• Proven success in working within and managing projects for a remote team environment.
• Demonstrated ability to engage with customers/clients effectively.
• Proven capability to manage multiple clients simultaneously with varying work-capacity demands.
• Cross-functional fluency and an understanding of stakeholder needs.
• Ability to support, manage, and supervise 1–3 associate-level team members.
• Strong attention to detail while keeping the overarching goals in mind.
• Comfortable in a dynamic team environment, willing to embrace change, and take initiative.
• Eagerness to support progressive organizations and their missions.
• Candidates must be authorized to work in the US without requiring visa sponsorship now or in the future.
• Preferred: Master’s degree in accounting.
• Preferred: Experience in non-profit accounting, including 501(c)(3), 501(c)(4), and political entities.
• Preferred: QuickBooks Online ProAdvisor Certification.
• Preferred: Extensive proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
• Preferred: Working knowledge of Google Suite/Workspace, Asana, Keeper/Double, and Slack.
