This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +2 more states.
• Create and sustain detailed financial forecasts, budgets, and management reports for the Travel Services portfolio.
• Monitor operational and financial metrics to guide strategic decision-making.
• Conduct variance analysis against plans, previous years, and the latest forecasts, identifying trends and providing actionable insights.
• Assist in the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes.
• Prepare and scrutinize variance explanations and outputs for management reporting.
• Develop and enhance financial models for travel programs, hospitality packages, and event operations.
• Take ownership of program and event-level profitability reporting within the Travel Services portfolio.
• Collaborate with business leaders to assess revenue performance, cost drivers, and margin optimization.
• Partner with Controllership to ensure accurate accounting treatment, complete accruals, and compliance with financial reporting policies.
• Identify and implement process improvements, including standardized and ad-hoc reports, tools, and Excel/BI dashboards.
• Assist in contract analysis and considerations regarding revenue recognition, including principal versus agent distinctions.
• Contribute to systems and reporting initiatives, ensuring data integrity and controls across finance platforms.
• Support special projects aimed at revenue enhancement, price/volume analysis, and margin optimization.
• Be prepared to work extended hours during peak event and reporting periods, including month-end closings and critical travel program deadlines.
• Ensure that Finance plays a vital role in decisions that have financial implications.
• 3–5+ years of progressive experience in Finance, Accounting, FP&A, or analytics.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting.
• Strongly preferred experience in live events, hospitality, sports, or entertainment sectors.
• Solid understanding of financial closing processes, P&L structures, cost allocation, and profitability drivers.
• Advanced skills in financial modeling and Excel.
• Experience with BI/dashboarding tools such as Glean, Omni, or Power BI is an advantage.
• Familiarity with ERP systems like NetSuite and SAP is a plus.
• Capability to influence and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders.
• Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience in producing executive-ready deliverables for senior leadership.
• Strong communication, relationship-building, and organizational capabilities.
