Senior Financial Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee the preparation, analysis, and review of intricate participation profit-share and distribution financial statements.

• Ensure that financial outputs are in alignment with contractual obligations and adhere to accounting standards.

• Execute fiscal month-end closing tasks, which include true-ups, reconciliations, and expense accruals.

• Link statement reporting with the accuracy of the general ledger.

• Investigate discrepancies in data and provide comprehensive narratives for management review.

• Examine peer statements for accuracy, readiness for audit, and compliance with internal controls.

• Convert artist and label legal agreements into effective financial models.

• Gather, transform, and analyze transactional data for statement reporting, budgets, and cash forecasts.

• Supply financial data for deal models and responses to audits.

• Address artist inquiries, data discrepancies, and audit claims.

• Anticipate potential challenges and propose solutions to management.

• Mentor analysts, offer feedback on reviews, and assist in training new hires.

• Foster relationships with label finance, legal teams, and senior executives.

• Recognize inefficiencies and implement process enhancements and automation initiatives.

⛳️ Requirements

• A BA/BS degree is required; a degree in Accounting or Finance is preferred.

• 3–5 years of relevant professional experience in a sophisticated financial role.

• Advanced skills in MS Excel are essential.

• Solid understanding of financial accounting principles, including P&L statements, reconciliations, fiscal closing processes, and internal controls.

• Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.

• Capacity to take initiative, work independently, maintain organization, and deliver precise results under pressure.

• Ability to simplify complex financial data into clear, actionable insights.

• Leadership qualities necessary for mentoring colleagues.

• Experience in the Music, Media, or Entertainment sectors, particularly in Participations, Royalties, or Audit, is preferred.

• Familiarity with SAP S4 Hana, SAP Analysis for Office, BI, and SharePoint is preferred.

• Experience utilizing Generative AI tools to automate manual workflows is preferred.

• A proven track record of success in a fully remote Shared Services environment is preferred.
