Senior Financial Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Constructing and sustaining financial models that encompass: reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and other pertinent business cases to facilitate actionable insights for leadership decision-making.

• Examining historical and current financial data to produce precise forecasts and report on essential metrics.

• Enhancing and applying standardized financial processes and tools as the business progresses and expands, with a focus on managing operating expenses (improving the existing budget versus actual model, streamlining monthly budget versus actual distributions to departmental leaders, incorporating and monitoring departmental feedback, collaborating with accounting on month-end closing processes, and highlighting significant insights into variances).

• Cultivating strong partner relationships throughout the organization by offering performance visibility, establishing trust, understanding relevant partner objectives, and serving as the subject matter expert on operating expenses.

• Delivering financial assistance for both ad-hoc and recurring events, including weekly senior leadership meetings, monthly all-hands meetings, board presentations, quarterly business reviews, price and promotion analysis, and other high-level engagements.

• Recognizing and employing AI-driven tools and workflows to streamline FP&A processes, enhance forecast accuracy, automate routine analyses, and provide quicker, more actionable financial insights to stakeholders.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field.

• 3-5 years of relevant financial experience in a similar capacity, with a focus on operating expense management and budget compliance.

• Strong financial modeling and communication skills that effectively convey the business narrative are essential.

• Familiarity with GAAP accounting and a thorough understanding of all financial statements.

• Advanced proficiency in Excel/PowerPoint/Google Sheets, with experience in constructing operating expense actuals versus budget from raw financial data sourced from accounting platforms.

• Experience with Planful to assist with budgeting, forecasting, and reporting is preferred, or experience with other financial planning and analysis systems (such as Anaplan, Workday Adaptive Planning, Vena, Hyperion, SAP, etc.).

• Experience with NetSuite and/or Looker is a plus.

• Proficient in using SQL-based systems and data tools to extract insights, analyze performance, and support business decision-making.

• Proven experience in building and utilizing AI tools (e.g., large language models, automation platforms, or AI-driven analytics) to enhance FP&A functions, such as forecasting, variance analysis, scenario modeling, and financial reporting.

• Excellent presentation and communication skills with the capability to create and deliver executive-level content, translating data into actionable insights and compelling business narratives.

• Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to foster relationships across different functions.

• Outstanding organizational abilities with the capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously and adapt to competing and changing priorities.

• Experience in developing and refining processes, with a desire to inspire change.

• High integrity and accountability.

• Start-up experience is advantageous; the ability to work independently in a rapidly growing environment is essential.
