This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Assist in documenting daily banking transactions, referring unusual or complex matters to senior team members.
• Input accounts payable invoices and aid in generating accounts receivable and sponsorship invoices.
• Provide support for journal entries, bank reconciliations, and the collection of supporting documentation under the supervision of senior staff.
• Help uphold precise financial records by performing accurate data entry in accounting software.
• Assist in processing payments, including monitoring GVX Wealth payments and setting up garnishment records.
• Aid in the processing and tracking of ring orders, chargebacks, and legacy documentation to support accurate recordkeeping and related communications.
• Address general internal and agent inquiries, escalating complex issues to the appropriate team members.
• Assist in preparing and distributing periodic reports and routine communications.
• Monitor shared inboxes and direct emails to the appropriate individuals for prompt follow-up.
• Support data cleanup and record maintenance across financial systems and spreadsheets.
• Help organize and maintain financial and operational documentation to ensure compliance and effective recordkeeping.
• Assist with accounting department initiatives such as automation, dashboard creation, SOP documentation, and worksheet development.
• Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related discipline, with eligibility for a co-op or internship work term is required.
• Strong foundational understanding of accounting principles, including debits and credits, accounts payable/receivable, journal entries, and basic financial statements.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, encompassing formulas, VLOOKUPS, and pivot tables.
• Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and the capability to maintain accuracy while handling financial data and documentation.
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain well-organized records in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong written communication skills, capable of preparing professional emails, documentation, and reports.
• Comfortable with learning new technologies and business systems; experience with ERP/accounting platforms such as NetSuite, QuickBooks, or similar systems is advantageous.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to investigate discrepancies and appropriately escalate issues.
• Proactive and inquisitive mindset, with a genuine interest in identifying opportunities to enhance processes, increase efficiency, and improve data accuracy.
• Reliable, professional, and able to manage confidential financial information with discretion.
• Collaborative team player who works effectively with colleagues across departments and is open to feedback and coaching.
