Senior Finance Manager – Climate Tech

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Europe.

📋 Description

• Take proactive, independent, and confident ownership of the Finance function at OET.

• Ensure the accuracy of financial records, which includes bookkeeping, reconciliations, and tracking transactions.

• Manage the processing of invoices, expenses, and payments while guaranteeing proper documentation and compliance.

• Assist in the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing processes.

• Aid in financial reporting and internal tracking of finances.

• Develop and uphold project- and Department-specific budgets.

• Work alongside external tax advisors to ensure adherence to German accounting and tax regulations.

• Handle monthly payroll for our direct entity and employer of record services.

• Partner with the People Department on relevant issues.

• Provide support for audits and respond to financial documentation requests as necessary.

• Help enhance financial workflows and documentation within the organization.

• Manage cash flow effectively.

• Engage in financial planning (FP&A).

• Oversee risk management.

• Assist in fundraising efforts.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 8 years of experience in accounting, finance, controlling, and/or bookkeeping.

• Solid understanding of accounting principles with the ability to work with external tax advisors to ensure compliance with local regulations (specifically in Germany).

• Familiarity with accounting software and financial management tools (e.g., Odoo, Datev).

• Experience in handling financial data, formulas, etc., using Google Sheets and Excel.

• Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

• Capability to manage financial records accurately in a remote setting, including the use of cloud storage and sharing, while maintaining strict access control.

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate asynchronously with cross-functional teams.

• Fluency in English (our primary working language) is essential. Proficiency in German (used with select vendors) is a plus.
