This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Act as the expert on clients’ financial operations.
• Oversee Associates and direct accounting and financial operations for designated clients.
• Effectively communicate with clients to ensure precise and timely financial data and platform management.
• Supervise Associates and manage bookkeeping tasks, including bill payments, journal entries, account reconciliations, expense documentation, and payroll processing.
• Collaborate with client managers to create and uphold budgets.
• Offer guidance on cash-flow forecasting.
• Collect information and prepare monthly and ad hoc reports along with financial statements.
• Analyze and interpret financial data and trends to deliver insights.
• Lead the preparation and execution of audits and tax filings.
• Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and maintain financial transparency.
• Set mutual expectations with clients through thoughtful and clear communication.
• Establish expectations, delegate responsibilities, and mentor 1–3 Associate-level team members.
• Uphold the organization’s values and promote a values-driven workplace.
• Manage special projects and undertake additional duties as assigned.
• 7–10 years of experience in accounting.
• Proven experience managing full-cycle accounting processes.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP.
• Significant experience with QuickBooks Online.
• Supervisory experience with the ability to lead with empathy.
• Experience working in and managing projects for a remote team environment.
• Proven track record of quality customer/client engagement.
• Ability to manage multiple clients simultaneously with varying workload demands.
• Cross-functional fluency and focus on stakeholder execution.
• Capability to support, manage, and supervise 1–3 Associate-level team members.
• Strong attention to detail while maintaining a holistic perspective.
• Comfort in a dynamic team setting with a readiness to embrace change and take initiative.
• Commitment to supporting progressive organizations and their missions.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship now or in the future.
• A Master’s degree in accounting is preferred.
• Experience in non-profit accounting is preferred, including 501(c)(3), 501(c)(4), and political entities.
• QuickBooks Online ProAdvisor Certification is preferred.
• Extensive experience with Microsoft Excel is preferred.
• Proficiency with Google Suite/Workspace, Asana, Keeper/Double, and Slack is preferred.
