Senior Field Service Technician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Execute the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and emergency repair of UPS, LV & MV power systems at client locations across the US.

• Require 70% travel and function with a significant degree of autonomy.

• Act as the on-site technical authority, fostering client relationships while ensuring reliable operation of critical power equipment.

• Lead projects and oversee field operations.

• Diagnose and fix breakers, shutdown switches, wiring harnesses, alternators, UPS, battery systems, and control panels.

• Perform root cause analysis on intricate electrical failures.

• Work with Modular Enclosures and Power Skid systems and carry out field surveys.

• Effectively communicate with clients regarding issues, solutions, and timelines.

• Review electrical plans and designs to verify technical accuracy and identify any potential discrepancies or risks to the project.

• Supervise the onsite startup and/or commissioning of equipment supplied by the company.

• Plan, execute, and document onsite Integrated Systems Testing (IST) for company-provided equipment.

• Ensure all installations comply with relevant standards.

• Assist Logistics with the scheduling of all equipment testing.

• Collaborate with Engineering, Production, and Sales teams on service estimates and parts recommendations.

• Mentor junior technicians while developing leadership capabilities.

• Provide emergency assistance when critical systems fail (participating in a rotating on-call schedule).

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 4 years of experience working with UPS, generators, governors, regulators, MV/LV switchgear, or comparable power equipment.

• Industry experience in Datacenters, power generation, utilities, oil & gas, marine, or energy sectors.

• Knowledge of UPS & Power Distribution equipment.

• Tools: Proficient in using multimeters, hand tools, wiring equipment, and soldering tools.

• Software: Comfortable with Microsoft Office for documentation and reporting purposes.

• Driver's License: A valid license with a clean driving record is required for travel.
