• Collaborate on-site with clients to pinpoint areas for operational enhancement and address challenges.
• Carry out field service responsibilities, including diagnosing technical problems and performing on-site troubleshooting within approved zones.
• Implement installation and commissioning, maintenance, repairs, expansions, upgrades, retrofits, end-of-life services, and replacements.
• Assist in the certification process for Associate Field Service Technicians and Field Service Technicians.
• Mentor technicians and oversee intricate site operations.
• Serve as trainers when necessary, providing guidance to team members and clients.
• Compile material lists for service tasks and ensure that all materials, parts, and equipment conform to quality standards and are readily available.
• Anticipate potential equipment failures and suggest corrective measures.
• Enhance customer satisfaction by fostering and sustaining positive relationships.
• Discover potential new sales opportunities while addressing customer requirements and communicate these internally.
• Identify avenues for product and quality enhancements.
• Offer management recommendations for improving operations and customer service.
• Adhere to safety protocols and uphold safe work and environmental practices.
• Report unsafe practices and incidents.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology with 4+ years of experience in servicing critical power equipment OR an Associate's Degree in electrical technology with 6+ years of relevant experience OR a High School Diploma/GED along with equivalent work and/or military experience (8+ years) in servicing critical power equipment.
• Proficient in interacting and conveying information (both written and verbal) to various levels within the organization.
• Strong collaboration skills.
• Proficient in using Microsoft Office applications at an advanced level.
• Moderate project management capabilities using MS Project or Excel.
• Advanced skills in drafting test plans and reports that detail test outcomes.
• Expertise in maintaining organization and meeting deadlines for administrative tasks.
• Exhibits a sense of urgency and ownership until tasks are completed.
• Applicants must possess work authorization that allows them to work for ABB in the US.
