This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Complete Project Delivery - you will assist in projects from initial concept through to commissioning, conducting site assessments, drafting scopes and bills of quantities, coordinating materials, and ensuring seamless installation across commercial sites.
• Installation and Commissioning - you will perform installations of AC and DC EV chargers in accordance with BS 7671 regulations, finalize commissioning tasks, create documentation, and engage directly with clients, OEMs, and contractors to ensure a successful handover.
• Maintenance and Fault Resolution - you will carry out both scheduled preventative maintenance and reactive repairs, diagnosing issues on AC and DC chargers, identifying root causes, and implementing long-lasting technical solutions to maximize uptime.
• On-Site Troubleshooting and Support - you will respond to service tickets, conduct diagnostics using appropriate tools, and assist in rapid issue resolution across commercial locations nationwide.
• Quality, Compliance, and Reporting - you will ensure all tasks comply with electrical and safety regulations, adhere to QMS processes, perform installation checks, generate snagging reports, and maintain precise records using digital tools and CMMS systems.
• Stakeholder Collaboration - you will collaborate closely with the Electrical Supervisor, Lead Field Engineer, helpdesk, and broader delivery teams, as well as directly with customers, ensuring clear communication and maintaining high service standards.
• Continuous Improvement - you will provide insights on recurring technical challenges, contributing to enhancements across Pod’s products, systems, and delivery methodologies.
• On Call Service Participation - As part of a 24x7x365 support model, you will contribute to on-call engineering coverage. On-call engineers offer substantial advantages where equipment uptime and operational continuity are crucial. This includes:
• Technical Support & Maintenance - responding quickly to faults and breakdowns.
• Customer Interaction - clearly communicating with clients and providing real-time updates.
• Documentation & Reporting - recording incidents, repairs, and parts utilized.
• Compliance & Safety - adhering to safety protocols, industry regulations, and PPE requirements.
• Availability & Readiness - ensuring operational preparedness when on the on-call rota.
• Core Qualifications: - Level 3 NVQ or City and Guilds in Electrical Installation or equivalent.
• 18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations, BS 7671.
• ECS or CSCS Card.
• Full UK driving license.
• Technical Expertise.
• Strong experience with commercial or industrial electrical systems.
• Ability to interpret electrical schematics, technical documentation, and fault codes.
• Experience in installing and maintaining AC and DC EV chargers.
• Knowledge of charging protocols such as OCPP and Modbus.
• Familiarity with network connectivity, cellular, and wireless systems.
